From state of the art IT systems and best practice staff training
procedures, head office provides the management systems which enable
each office to get on with the business of providing speedy, accurate
and comprehensive valuation services to clients.
With a dedicated research division compiling market information
across Queensland, head office supports the branch operations by
producing reports and newsletters for customers using local knowledge
from each office together with quarterly information released by
the Department of Natural Resources.
A dedicated IT manager maintains our state of the art logging system,
which tracks every job in progress across Queensland, enabling Herriots
staff to view the status of any project in real time through the
flick of a switch.
Head office staff manage accounting and human resources functions
for the company to ensure the highest standards are maintained across
the business. Head office coordinates ongoing staff education and
professional development.
Iain Herriot
Managing partner Iain Herriot was born in Scotland and migrated with
his family to Southport, Queensland in 1960. He is a Fellow of both
the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the Australian Property
Institute and a member via the Valuation, Land Economy and Plant
and Machinery streams.
Iain specialises in valuations for litigation, resumption and compulsory
acquisitions. Prior to founding Herriots in 1990, Iain worked extensively
in the project management/engineering and building industries and
has previously been a licensed real estate agent/general auctioneer.
He has been appointed a member of the Queensland Department of Fair
Trading Property Agents and Motor Dealers Tribunal giving
recognition to his role in opposing the unscrupulous two-tiered
marketing practices in Queensland.
He has successfully overseen the expansion of Herriots to its current
position as Queenslands largest independent valuation practice.
