John started his career as a cadet valuer for the Queensland Government, where he gained registration while working for the Department of Lands. He worked for some years valuing a wide range of residential, commercial and rural properities in Brisbane, Maryborough and Emerald before joining Herriots in 1995.

Other senior valuers working at the Herriots Sunshine Coast office include Peter Francis and Jeff Hobbs who collectively have more than 35 years experience valuing property throughout South-East Queensland.
