The Herriots Story

Established in 1990, Herriots is Queensland’s leading firm of independent valuers.

Herriots provides a range of property consultancy services for mortgage lenders, government agencies, corporate investors, as well as ordinary consumers purchasing property or having their land acquired.

Herriots is totally independent, with no affiliations or associations with real estate agents, property marketers, developers, or other parties that may have influence on the company’s ability to provide honest, independent, objective and accurate valuations and reports.

With an existing team of 64 staff, Herriots employs registered valuers throughout Queensland and has plans to expand throughout Australia and New Zealand. We currently have branches in Brisbane (North), Brisbane (South), Bundaberg, Cairns, Caboolture, Ipswich, Townsville and on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts.

Each Herriots branch is managed by a senior partner with extensive industry experience, backed by teams of senior valuers and a range of support staff to ensure quick turn-arounds of valuations and quality project management. All staff at each branch of Herriots possess highly specialised local knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the property market in their area. As a wholly owned private company, Herriots can respond to government and corporate tenders on behalf of all branches of the business without the negotiations and liaisons required by many franchised property valuation firms, which effectively operate as separate businesses under the one brand name.

We manage our valuation projects through a state of the art, custom built computer system, which was developed exclusively for Herriots and is now patented and marketed to the rest of the property valuation industry. This system is centrally networked from head office and enables senior management to track the progress of every project in real time, from an initial client phone call through to the delivery of the final valuation report.

A dedicated Research and Analysis Division collects and interprets data released by the Department of Natural Resources on a quarterly basis for the purpose of extrapolating trends and predicting future property activity in each area where Herriots operates. This information is made available to valued clients through regular newsletters and reports.
Herriots maintains a highly mobile workforce, available to travel to any branch office at short notice to support local teams with very large valuation projects.

Herriots is represented on the panels of more than 80 leading Australian banks and building societies including Suncorp Metway, National Australia Bank, Macquarie Bank, ANZ, St George, RAMS, Wizard Home Loans, Bank of Melbourne, NRMA Building Society, Queenslanders Credit Union, Westpac Corporation and AMP Banking.
